I am a physiotherapist with over twenty years in clinical practice. My experience of health care provision has been in the NHS, private practice, voluntary sector and occupational health clinics. I have specialised and worked with adults and children in the fields of critical care, neurology and musculoskeletal physiotherapy. I am in the fourth year of a part time PhD aimed at exploring the association between joint hypermobility syndrome (JHS) and developmental coordination disorder (DCD).
I graduated from the Middlesex Hosptial, London and worked for five years in the UK before following my husband to work in Qatar, Nigeria and Oman. I completed an MSc in Neuromusculokeletal Physiotherapy in 2004 at University College London.
I joined Bournemouth University in 2005 and was a founder member of the BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy program. I was a founder member of the Association of Chartered Physiotherapists in Exercise Therapy (ACPET) and have organised and lectured on study days in relation to exercise prescription and joint hypermobility syndrome.
