Colleen gained a degree in Physiotherapy in South Africa followed by MSc in Neuromusculoskeletal Physiotherapy at the University College London in 2000. Colleen has worked in a wide range of clinical and educational settings in both South Africa and in the UK.

Her main clinical work has included working with recreational athletes, occupational health groups, outpatients and private practice. Having always enjoyed rehabilitation, Colleen undertook the Polestar Pilates Rehabilitation Programme and has found it invaluable in motivating patients in helping them achieve their goals and independence.

Colleen is currently a Senior Lecturer at the University of Hertfordshire where she leads the undergraduate Advancing Neuromusculoskeletal Module and teaches on the undergraduate and post-graduate programmes. Colleen would like to see exercise prescription and rehabilitation fully establish itself at the forefront of all physiotherapy disciplines.

In the field of exercise, Colleen’s interests are prevention and management of ill health through physical activity, motivational exercise prescription and rehabilitation and clinical reasoning in exercise programme design and progression.
